GegaByte Component Maker is a program, designed and built keeping in mind to make things simple for the user, with GegaByte Component Maker you can make your very own custom Joomla components in a matter of minutes, which are ready to install saving you hours and hours of time.

The current version of GegaByte Component Maker supports Joomla 3.x platforms. We are working hard to include each and every Joomla component fields. GegaByte Component Maker follows the MVC structure and formatting guild lines. Components made with GegaByte Component Maker are JED Checklist compatible, hence saving hours of time while submitting the Component on Joomla Extension Directory (JED).

GegaByte Component Maker has been made so simple that you do not need the knowledge of Joomla MVC at all; following steps are required to make a component in GegaByte Component Maker.

Step 1 (Info)


Simply enter the details of the component like,
  • Name
  • Creation date
  • Menu caption
  • Copyright
  • Author
  • Author email & website address
  • Component version
  • License type
  • Description

Step 2 (Settings)

  • Choose Component icon
  • Choose Component language
  • Choose Frontend & Backend Options like
    • Frontend
      • Pagination to front
      • Input from user via frontend
    • Backend
      • Search on backend
      • Sorting to all columns
      • Publish & unpublished button
      • Ordering
      • Save & New Button
      • Save as copy Button
      • Save & Continue
      • Move to trash
  • Data to be randomly generated (optional)

Step 3 (Database)

  • Add the fields of the component

Various options like required, verified field etc are available.

Step 4 (Views)

  • Add multiple views to the component. (optional)
  • Data to be randomly generated (optional)

Step 5 (Generate)

  • In the end simply click the Big “Generate” button to make the component.
  • User is asked if the user wants to make a .Zip and after that whether to open the component folder or not.
